Today, we officially moved our Hong Kong laboratory into a new, much larger space at the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP). This relocation marks a significant upgrade for our long-standing Hong Kong operations, and we are excited to begin this new chapter in the Greater Bay Area.
Chairman Hongkun Zheng on Our Journey and Hong Kong Plans
During the opening ceremony, our Chairman, Mr. Zheng Hongkun, shared the company’s growth story and our strategic direction in Hong Kong.

“Our Hong Kong lab has been providing services to researchers in Hong Kong for years. Today, we are not starting from scratch – we are taking a real step forward,” said Mr. Zheng. “By moving into a much larger, fully upgraded facility at HSITP, we are doubling down on our commitment to this region. The new lab allows us to expand our processing capacity to over 50,000 samples per year, adopt full automation, and offer more reliable and faster services to our partners.”
He added that the upgraded Hong Kong lab will not only better support local universities and research institutes in animal and plant genomics, second‑ and third‑generation sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis, but also benefit researchers across surrounding regions. “Hong Kong’s open policies and international connectivity give us a unique advantage,” Mr. Zheng noted. “We look forward to serving more scientific partners from Southeast Asia and beyond, leveraging this platform to advance life science research together.”
What the New Lab Offers
The relocated Hong Kong lab is a major upgrade from our previous facility. Key features include:
- BSL-2 certification for safe handling of moderate-risk biological agents
- Fully automated nucleic acid extraction systems for high-throughput, reproducible processing
- Comprehensive library preparation for next-generation sequencing (NGS)
- Integrated quality control workflows from sample receipt to final library validation
- Annual processing capacity of over 50,000 samples – a substantial increase to support large-scale research projects
The lab handles a wide range of sample types, including blood, tissues, and microbial specimens, following international quality standards.

Looking Ahead
With our successful relocation to HSITP, we aim to become an even stronger hub for genomic research in the region. We plan to hold regular workshops, technical seminars, and collaborative projects with local institutions.
